map IT is a tool that I hope will help you plan your trips and hopefully discover fun places near your hotel. The links below will take you to the “My Maps” tool of Google Maps. I have created maps specific to the regions which will illustrate the distance you are or going to be from top destinations, fun venues and amazing restaurants.

Travel Advisory provided by the US Department of State – You can set alerts about destinations you are planning to visit. They have a useful color coded map about the current travel risk level as well.

Vaccination resources provided by the US Center for Disease Control – A good resource to see the required and suggested vaccines by country.

Travel Health Advice provided by the US Center for Disease Control – Useful health safety travel information

Country Background provided by the US Central Intelligence Agency – Some basic, historical and current information on countries you might be considering traveling to.

the key to the maps:

There are two things to consider when looking at the marked locations on the maps, color and type of symbol.

• Type of symbol:
  • All of the vITal-trek logos represent the IT destinations. The top spots in the region and must see location if you are visiting this area.
  • The “see IT” symbol indicates top locations that you should try to fit into your adventure if you have time to spare or are passing near the location and can squeeze it in.
  • It is exactly what you think. Great places where to get something delicious.
  • Great places where to get a cocktail or a local brew. It does not necessarily mean that the food is not delicious as well.
  • Amazing places that you can make your home base. Hotels that offer great locations, comfortable rooms and amazing extras.

• Color of symbol:
  • Gray: restaurants, bars, clubs, lounges and hotels
  • Black: International Dark Sky Sanctuaries and Dark Sky Reserves
  • Green: Nature, parks, mountains, lakes, beaches, forests, gardens, caves…
  • Red: Urban, modern architecture, plazas, stadiums, theaters, roads…
  • Yellow: Historic, monuments, castles, fortresses, ruins…
  • Orange: Museums
